Over the years much of my work has involved supporting clients with ‘courageous conversations’ they needed to have and building their confidence in handling these challenges.
Also at both director level and at team level I have ‘opened up channels of communication’ or helped people to see the other person’s point of view in a difficult situation. So offering ‘A Different Perspective’ seemed to naturally lead into dispute resolution where often it is simply a case that communications have broken down to the point where court action is considered.
Court action is extremely time consuming, expensive and public and can only offer a winner and a loser and make monetary awards. Mediation on the other hand offers a private, much more cost-effective solution in a much quicker time-frame to reach a resolution which is acceptable to both parties and which is then formally agreed and legally binding.
